It takes a Village to Raise a Child…

Many times, I find myself running after my children, my family, myself, and still feel a need to fulfill. I feel like I have so much more to offer yet, I don’t have time. These are the days when I stop to rethink what I am doing. There is an incredible feeling of satisfaction when one gives back to the community. Be it time, energy, money, or anything in between… anything really! Small deeds sometimes overlooked are an incredibly necessary part of our religion as Muslims. This also is so crucial to the development of our children. I see myself telling them countless times how blessed we are to have family, food, shelter, and endless toys. Yet, it never seems to click until they see the latter with their own eyes. Doing small community work with children resonates with them in a way unimaginable! I invite you to try some of these ideas with your family to have a local impact on your community. I will have more detailed info on these as Ramadan nears InshAllah!
