Stuffed Dates

These are a favorite in my family, we love anything stuffed. Dates are delicious and full of nutrition. I find, however, they can be a little over sweet and pungent at times, and honestly I don’t find them very filing.  I have also been on a mission to limit (eventually eliminate) refined sugar from our diet. But, I cannot live without an occasional sweet bite.  So this was an inevitable find! I love how easy, healthy, and delicious it is (my kids really love it). So here it is!

 

3 Deglet Noor Dates

1 Tablespoon of no sugar added Peanut Butter (or seed butter)

Sprinkle of blackseed which was used by the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) to “cure every disease except death”

Sprinkle of unsweetened coconut flakes provides a good portion of protein, fiber, iron, and zinc

Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants

Simply open your dates and stuff with about a teaspoon of your nut/seed butter of your choice. Sprinkle with blackseed, coconut flakes, and chia seeds for a fun little snack this Ramadan!
